The Foundation initially raised $1 million from public subscription and through the support of the Waikato Community Trust. This money was then placed into an investment portfolio in order to generate income. The interest from this investment portfolio is then used to fund the grants that it gives each year.

In 2010, a total of $129,846 was given out to 8 recipients from Waikato Hospital and the Waikato Clinical School, AgResearch, and the University of Waikato.

Each year the applications for research funding grow bigger. The Foundation needs your support in order to fill this growth. All contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible to the limits set by the Inland Revenue.

You can become:

• A sponsor for a one-off donation of $5000
• A major donor for a one-off donation of $2000
• A life member for a one-off donation of $500
• A subscriber for $50 donation per year
