Apply for funding

If you are planning to apply to the Waikato Medical Research Foundation for financial support with a project during 2012, please read the Research Grant Information (PDF).

The Waikato Medical Research Foundation exists to support and encourage medical research within the Waikato region and to assist in the publication of the results of this research.

The Foundation invites research proposals that are related to health and medical topics. These are carefully considered by the Grants Committee, which pays close attention to such matters as:

• Aims of the research
• Literature review
• Methodology used
• Sampling methods and size
• Statistical methods
• Contribution to knowledge

The level of support offered every year is dependent upon the quality of research proposals and the availability of funds. The Foundation awards Grants that contribute to the overall costs of the research project. As limited funding is available, only partial funding as a grant-in-aid is normally available for large projects.

If appropriate, complete the Research Grant Application form and send it to us electronically and as hard copy. Follow the instructions carefully!
