Apply for funding 2017

Applications for the 2017 Grant Round close:

Friday, 30th June 2017 at 12 noon

The Waikato Medical Research Foundation exists to support and encourage medical research within the Waikato region and to assist in the publication of the results of this research.

The Foundation invites research proposals that are related to health and medical topics. These are carefully considered by the Grants Committee, which pays close attention to such matters as:

  • Aims of the research
  • Literature review
  • Methodology used
  • Sampling methods and size
  • Statistical methods
  • Contribution to knowledge

The level of support offered every year is dependent upon the quality of research proposals and the availability of funds. The Foundation awards Grants that contribute to the overall costs of the research project. As limited funding is available, only partial funding as a grant-in-aid is normally available for large projects.

Specific funds for 2017 are available to support quality projects in cardiology, urology and primary health research, and applications are sought particularly but not exclusively from young investigators.

Please complete the Research Grant Application form and forward to us electronically and also please supply hard copies : please follow the instructions carefully.

Grant closure for 2017 is Friday, 30th June 2017 at 12 noon.
